avahi-daemon DOS attack will lock up your PC

Hello. Just a quick whinge, I have been running with parrot OS for a few months now. I clicked on a link in firefox and lo and behold, my little gem of a nuc pc which runs parrot linux very efficiently decided to freeze up. Having a look at /var/log/messages, I did notice a lot of these lines of text entry at the time of the troubles:
SRC=192.168.0.1 DST=224.0.0.1 LEN=36 TOS=0x00 PREC=0xC0 TTL=1 ID=0 DF PROTO=2

After a bit of googling I made the managerial decision to turn off avahi-daemon . Is this service really necessary?

No, not necessary at unless mdns/bonjour and whatever else might depend on it aren’t important. It looks to be a standard multicast presence request/response chatter.
