[BugReport] Bad color display of win10 themes on xfce

  • My Parrot information:
    DISTRIB_RELEASE=4.10 (Actually, 4.11 XFCE Beta 2, but applies to all)
    PRETTY_NAME=“Parrot GNU/Linux 4.10”
    NAME=“Parrot GNU/Linux”

  • Kernel version:
    Linux parrot-411-beta2 5.9.0-2parrot1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.9.6-2parrot1 (2020-11-17) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I’ve been meaning to ask… I love black, but how do I change the color of the panels or the desktop icon text in Parrot? (Plus I get to share this nice screenshot of my background. LOL)

It is a little tricky. You have to go to /usr/share/themes/, edit the current theme’s color.
I can take a look at it and push a fix.
For XFCE env of Windows 10 theme, it should be at /usr/share/themes/Windows 10 Light/xfwm4

I’ve changed the name of topic to bug report for the theme color. So for now we are having at least 2 problems

  1. Color of text of desktop icons
  2. Focuses windows has wrong color of decorators -> This happens only if users set “dark theme” for firefox
    P/s: I’m reading this to find out which section should be edited

This option for theme is actually better :’( i’m still checking all variables in css
P/s: For the desktop icon text, i think it actually made for light theme and Parrot is using a "Dark’ style so that is why the color is not very good.

P/s2: I give up. I edited some variables and theme is still the same.

Thank you so much for your time trying! Parrot Security 4.10 Mate renders the desktop icon text as white (attached screenshot) so it appears to be a minor issue with the XFCE build. Maybe something to do with Icy-Dark showing up as a secondary theme and Acvamarin showing as a secondary Icon theme. I just noticed those in the Neofetch output of my initial post’s screenshot.

Hm very interesting. Yeah that was a wrong variable in theme but i can’t find actual var to edit it.
