you either messed up during the installation, or you forgot live + persistence option when making your live boot.or you didn’t burn the iso the correct way
I have the same problem. Wanted to reinstall Parrot OS but got stucked with a black screen. This contains home Mate & KDE. I have an Intel HD Graphics 5500 too.
It could be graphic driver error but it is super weird because intel hd family should be supported by default. Can anybody test live boot with older Parrot version (which has kernel 4.x). I am thinking this is something wrong with kernel 5.x and intel driver but i have no clue
I used the 4.6.iso to install it a few months ago and i had no problems
So it could be that stupid error in kernel 5.x and it is so wrong.
Seems to be fixed in security-4.8-experimental3_x64.iso. It has the 5.3.0-1parrot1-amd64 Kernel.
I think that should be fixed xD

can you confirm the version and method you are using please?
I wrote that the security-4.8-experimental3_x64.iso works with the Intel HD 5500. Its the experimental image with the 5.3 Kernel. Since the 4.6 image is not available i was forced to try the experimental image. I hope 4.8 will be more stable than the versions before 
So it will be fixed in next version ?
It should work since the next version will have a newer kernel.
