Desktop icons not visible

Briefly describe your issue below:

What version of Parrot are you running?
ParrotSec OS Version 4.6
Architecture amd64

Configured to multiboot with other systems?
YES

On my ParrotSec OS, when using it as root user, Desktop icons are not visible and nothing happens if I right click on Desktop.
I can create folders on Desktop from terminal and access it from terminal, but those doesn’t appear on Desktop.
However, when accessing parrot as other user, everything works fine i.e even right click works and Desktop icons are visible.

In dconf-editor, org > mate > caja > desktop, all types of icons are set to visible.
Also, in org > mate > desktop > background, show-desktop-icons is enabled.
And in Mate Tweak too, Show Desktop Icons is ticked.

I can even access Desktop contents through File Manager, but its still not visible on Desktop.

Parrot doesn’t support logging in to your desktop as root user. Its very bad practice therefore we actively discourage it.

Just use sudo or switch users in the terminal.

So is that the reason why I am facing this issue?

Yes.

Certain applications wont run as root, so when you launch the desktop they never start up. That’s why you are missing certain features.

Okay. Thank you for answering!
