Maybe You need to Install Nvidia Graphics Drivers if you have already done this then it might be some other problem .

And if you have not then you can do it by going to the link provided below
Nvidia Graphics Drivers - Linux(Debian)

Do I install the drivers to my pc or to debian itself

on your pc

(Parrot OS is based on debian)

Didnt work thanks for the reply though I’m still getting the rainbow line

Should I disable fast boot and try again

  1. Did you verify the checksums of your Downloaded Parrot OS ISO ?
  2. Did you created the boot device as advised ? (Here)

If your machine is CSM capable (which is a full UEFI implementation with an emulated BIOS layer) after selecting any option from the grub list the system will hang at a black screen.

The picture above actually only confirms your DVD/USB booted using UEFI and there will be some means in firmware settings to ensure drives are booted in order to make the UEFI installer run (a solution may possibly be as simple as ensuring SATA is set to AHCI) - check your vendors manual!
What you need to do first is to disable SECURE BOOT in the firmware settings.Or
If you cannot find UEFI settings then enable CSM - this will disable the UEFI booting of the installer and then allow a legacy/BIOS install.

For Nvidia graphics card, follow these steps:

  1. In the GRUB menu at startup, press e ; then,
  2. Use the arrow keys to replace quiet splash with nomodeset.
  3. Then press the Ctrl+x key combination to boot.

Thanks for the reply, I used etcher, SATA is set to AHCI, but the option to change uefi in my bios settings is greyed out, I don’t think my machine is compatible with legacy

Did you try out the Methods mentioned below?
if not may try if it works

I did what you said and tried a few other commands and now it’s just a blinking screen with blinking underscore and it says unable to bind the code. I can still log into parrot, is there maybe a command I can try when I log in

When I press alt f1 it lets me log in without the desktop environment

may i know what other commands did you try ,also are you able to use startx?

No it doesn’t let me use startx

Maybe it’s just not compatible with my pc haha

Can you send the output?
