Dualboot - ParrotOS doesnt recognize my keyboard :(

Hi, ParrotOS doesn’t recognize my keyboard once im in the UI.

Windows recognizes but parrot doesnt.

I havent found any information anywhere about this problem :frowning:

Hi. Which flavor of Parrot did you install (Mate, KDE, XFCE)?

Which version of Parrot OS did you install (4.9, 4.10, 4.11 Beta3)?

What type and model keyboard are you using (laptop, serial, USB) (Logitech, Dell, Microsoft)?

If you are using a laptop or pre-built PC, what brand and model is it?

As you can’t use the keyboard, I can’t have you enter any commands. I think the only hope is to edit the GRUB boot time parameters (if you can) to try enabling or disabling parameters. This will be based on your answers above.

Disclaimer: I’m not a Parrot developer.

hi

  1. Mate
  2. Laptop
  3. HP Pavilion 11 x360 PC

Note: If I connect a keyboard via usb, I can use it without problems. So if i have to enter commands i can do it

Thank you !!

Great! From what I’ve found you will need to edit the grub file:

sudo nano /etc/default/grub

edit the line containing “quiet splash” to read “quiet splash acpi=off”

Then run

sudo update-grub

Reboot the system and the keyboard (and touchpad) should be working. However there “could” be issues after shutting acpi off relating to sleep, hibernate, and battery power saving.
