Installation : I understand...nothing

Hi, if you could help me…
I downloaded the last version (security edition 5.1.2)
I created a bootable usb (easy, with rufus)
I booted on my PC on the usb key
I have now a beautiful “GNU RUB” text on screen and can do nothing…

Where is the promised graphic interface ?

Thanks

Hi @apologue

You either need Rufus to write to USB using DD, or preferably use something like Etcher.

Welcome to the forums
If it’s a W10/11 machine, you may have to disable windows quick-start in the UEFI/BIOS

why Linux fails to install [generic answer]
Corrupt download [did you check the SHA sum],
Bad burn to the pen-drive[ Rufus has not been playing well with all Linux for a while, try Balena Etcher]
Defective pen-drive [use a good quality branded drive formatted XFats]

Hi

Balena Etcher has no option, and apprently cannot create a bootable usb : my PC fails to boot on it. I retried with Rosa Image writer and now it works. A little…

I tried to install Parrot on my PC with the “erase disk” option. And it failed when installing :
"
The installer failed to create a partition table on kalihost -vg
Create a new partition table (type : gpt) on ‘/dev/kalihost-vg’

===============
job : Create a new partition table on device ‘/dev/kalihost-vg’

Thanks for your help

Ventoy is the best, very easy and simple to use. you can use this on windows or linux

run the webui or Ventoy2Disk, which installs ventoy to the usb stick, then drag and drop the parrot iso or windows iso into the ventoy folder where your drive is located on your pc, then boot from it.
