surely the best, nay, correct way to update/upgrade is:

sudo parrot-upgrade

When I returned to Parrot after nearly 2 years, I cocked everything up using “apt-get” and ended up doing a fresh install. Since then I always use " sudo parrot-upgrade" no problems at all.

Bon voyage

Thanks @Android for the debian repositories but I think it would still be practical to use the parrot os repo.

@bing I’ll try to do the fresh install and use the “sudo parrot-upgrade” moving forward. How’s your experience with Parrot OS for 2 years of using it?

@mcalonia .I must admit I left because of some irritating buggyness, it might have been that I was too much of a novice to tackle the OS.

Anyway I am back and its been a smooth ride. I even posted at Distrowatch.com with the comment “why use anything else” I have also converted my partner, a self proclaimed technophobe, she now will “not use anything else”.
Have also now installed and mastered Virtualbox in which I have 2 very secure distros running.
Be well
