Parrot 4.4 Development Discussions

No. But Wifite2 fails with evil twins attack and replace them with new PMKID attacks, but they require this two tools:

PMKID - analogue of capturing 4-way-handshake, but can capture PMKID without station on access point.

could you please package them? i think it would be very useful to have them in parrot 4.5

change exit node still not working from menu as always - why you make this strange scripts menuexec and menuexecg, when you can just make anonsurf no password promt in sudoers and use sudo then? with sudo function change work correct from menu and from terminal as well.

can u tell me one thing

why when i build iso file with debian live-build and write it on usb stick i cant use free space? but kali and parrot with same iso files allow to use it and create persistence partition?

(Lorenzo "Palinuro" Faletra) #48

do you use the persistence parameter on your own live-build settings?

(Lorenzo "Palinuro" Faletra) #49

we have many many applications (mostly tools and service launchers) that need to be executed as root, and we can’t add each of them to the sudoers file

it is way better to create a wrapper and let menu elements use it

Doesn’t the kde add a fair bit more load on system resources over the existing DE?

(Lorenzo "Palinuro" Faletra) #52

i monitored it for a while

the amount of ram is more or less the same (maybe 200 or 300mb more), the only difference is the huge amount of overhead caused by the effects of the compositor (which can be disabled)

of course kde is heavier than mate, but the latest version is very very efficient compared to the previous ones

Please help us and seed the torrents

Parrot 4.4 is now available for download

Read the release notes and download it

hcxdumptools is compatible with debian! Sorry for taking soo long. Very Busy lately

Love the “privacy by default” reminder, its hard to accomodate for best default user behaviour. Best practices start off keyboard for sure.

@palinuro How do you switch from MATE to KDE Plasma? Also when you switch do you lose the saved icons you added in your panels? I’m already upgraded to 4.4.

(Lorenzo "Palinuro" Faletra) #59

just install kde witn parrot-kde and select plasma from the login window

you will keep both the interfqces and choose them at login, or you can remove one of them

settings are hosted in your home folder, so removing one does notndelete its user settings

in order to have our settings on kde from older parrot versions, you need to have parrot-skel at its latest version and to have its more recent configs copied in your home folder. parrot updates don’t touch the home of the users, so you have to dovthis step manually

i figured out this issue. its a live-build version bug. with kali or parrot version of live-build all work fine.

apt install parrot-kde

(ConnectionistSystems) #63

After successful installation, I don’t get option to choose environment during login screen. I made sure to restart the computer also.

its in a menu that is up on the right next to the language locale and the power menu BEFORE you log in; it is set to default x session by default but you need to run the

sudo apt install parrot-kde or we still offer the parrot 4.4 kde version ISO as well. What exactly is your aim to accomplish? is it just the appearance?
