Up until Parrot 4.6 everything was OK on both my test laptops: HP 840 G2 and HP 820 G2.
Since 4.7 installation completes (text mode) but on reboot the X logon never displays. I get a white pointer on a black background which is movable. After about thirty seconds it will eventually hangs the whole machine - RESET.
I found that if you catch early enough in boot you can open a virtual console and I managed to capture the dmesg output:

Booting with other options: nvidia, power, etc makes no difference - still unable to logon via X.

Any ideas what is going on? Why did this used to work (Parrot 4.6) and no longer works? I would be happy to stick with v4.6 but no longer possible as this is now a rolling distro?
