Anything in bios that might be limiting it? I had something similar when installing a Linux OS onto a refurbished laptop “certified” with a remanufactured version of Windows.

I’m thinking the laptop screen is physically limited to 1920x1080. Hooking up a second monitor via HDMI will allow output to that monitor at a higher resolution.

Anything in ‘display and monitors’ section? can you change any settings there? usually laptop screens are limited on laptops like user @Masmer stated hooking your laptop up to your tv through HDMI should fix this and allow a higher resolution unless you have a laptop that allows a higher resolution without it

I could not find anything on the BIOS, this is a refurbished precision laptop 5520

This was originally a windows 10 laptop it has an nvidia drivers it could go up to 2048 resolution, on parrotos i can only do 1080. I did install nvidia drivers but no go.

@Masmer
i did try that and no go

So you have a Nvidia Quadro M1200? What does

inxi -G

output?

Did you install Nvidia drivers via the Parrot repository,

sudo apt install nvidia-driver

or from here?
