Termineter - can't connect /dev/ttyUSB0

Hi All,

I’m having some issues with enabling an ABACUS Optical Probe for use with termineter.
The device does not appear to be mapping to /dev/ttyUSB0 and i’ve followed the process as mentioned in the termineter documentation (https://github.com/securestate/termineter/wiki/GettingStarted).
Is anyone able to help? Full output of command listing is below

Check the arduino debian community somewhere. i think i remember something regarding a special config because of being denied tty serial USB interface so you had to use a different bus.

Thanks, finally got the probe working! Instructions as follows (also in the install instructions for Termineter but not the wiki it seems)

sudo su
modprobe ftdi-sio
echo "0x0403 0xf458" >> /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/ftdi_sio/new_id

hi fred,
from where do you have the ABACUS Optical Probe?

Hey rowie. I borrowed it from a friend who can’t remember where he got it from. I’ve also seen some on ebay but they’re extremely expensive for some reason.
