Virtualbox issue

I had an awful experience on Virtualbox: an upgrade just trashed the system. I just set a new VM that time: was lucky to lost nothing important. So now I don’t do it until I have a snapshot or two.

How do you see the right way to upgrade the system? (I use different hypervisor since, btw.) Take a snapshot, and hit yes in the upgrage window? OR Download ISO when ready and use it somehow?

my way (under vmware) is to:

  1. create a snapshot
  2. then update with sudo parrot-upgrade
  3. reboot (if necessary)
  4. enjoy

or you can just run the iso in live modus without/with persistence disk
