Wlan0 issues after kernel updates

Briefly describe your issue below:

A few months ago wlan0 started to require me manually enable it “sudo ifconfig wlan0 up”. I think it was due to a kernel update, but I can’t say for certain that is what caused it.

After another kernel update today, “ifup” fails entirely with SIOCSIFFLAGS: Input/output error.

This only occurs after sleeping or hibernating, It will initialize without any issue after a reboot.

I did the Google and see that this behavior is indicative of a driver issue. So my question is does anyone here have any Parrot specific recommendations or experience with this issue?

maybe boot with previous version of kernel is the best choice. You can do it with advanced boot options (something like that) in the grub

Same exact ath10k_pci driver here for internal wifi. Have had same problem in 5+ kernel.

Mine disconnects regularly in kernel 5.3.

Like Dmknght said try an earlier Kernel. In Grub, go to advanced options. Ideally choose a 4.* Kernel

Since I started booting into 4.19 it’s working much better for me.
