Architect 5.2 ARM64 image won't complete an install

Using VMWare Fusion Pro 13.0.1 on a macOS Ventura host system with an arm processor.

Installation gets all the way up to the point of “Preparing to configure parrot-core (arm64)” and gets stuck. If I switch over to a different terminal window and tail syslog, it shows that parrot-core (5.1.9) is attempting to be installed, but is prompting the user for a decision about what to do with the package’s version of /etc/bash.bashrc

I’m using Parallels on M1 MacBook Pro, but I’m stucking in the same step. I tried also with UTM, but nothing changed.
I also tried with “Parrot-architect-5.0.1_arm64.iso”, one of the older version, but it’s the same.

ParrotOS Architect Stuck during installation

Hi to all! I found a walk-around to avoid the issue and have ParrotOS 5.0.1 installed over ARM. I hope it works for you too. In the past, I tried to do the same but had some issues with the network, but now all works well! (I think was fixed with the last update of parallels ) Go through installation of the base system When prompted with “Scan extra installation media?”, Press on “Go Back” Select “Install the GRUB boot loader” Finish the installation This will install the bare bones of ParrotOS. Now to get the full experience, you’ll need to install the Desktop Environment followed by the tools. Once the installation is done, it’ll restart the VM. Log into ParrotOS Check to see if you have network access by typing in the command ping www.google.com If you get a response, then you can skip to step 7, otherwise continue onto step 4 to configure your network. Identify your network interface, the command is ip addr, this will list your network interfaces. Look for something that has link/ether underneath it, mine was enp0s5. Run sudo dhclient enp0s5 to configure your network interface Check #2 again, you should get a response. Install the default desktop environment, sudo apt update && sudo apt install parrot-desktop-mate Install all the tools, sudo apt install parrot-tools-full Restart with sudo reboot

Please follow the steps from the User’s post above. This may require graphical install to perform the steps listed fyi.

I currently do not know the status of correcting this bug in the install if this is still occurring in 5.2. Potentially someone from the Parrot OS dev team might be working on an solution but this is the current workaround.
