booting up problem

– Please solve my Booting Problem –
Hi, I installed Parrot Home Edition. It worked well. Then I try to update and then there happened the problem.
Now, while I try to update it gives following errors:
Error : no such device : /.disk/.info.
Error : no such device : /.disk/mini-info.
E: sub-process/usr/bin/dpkg returned on error code (1)

And when I reboot, If I dont select any option at booting (* Parrot OS 6 GNU/Linux)
, It doesnt boot.
But if i select Advanced options for Parrot OS6 GNU/Linux and then select Kernal 5, then it boot successful.

Thanks

Hi @Zeno

Sounds like you are experiencing the known kernel 6.5 issue with an incompatible dkms, likely realtek. When booted into kernel 5.x, run the following commands, and if there are no errors, reboot into kernel 6.5.

sudo apt remove realtek-rtl8188eus-dkms
sudo parrot-upgrade

Have similiar issue booting. In Advance Recovery mode, you can get to the Linux 6.0 menu choices. But where do you find the selection for Kernal 5? It just goes to small blinking cursor upper left corner. It won’t go to login page. Is data lost on Hard Drive?

Done,
Thanks

The bootloader could not be installed. The installation command

grub-install --target=i386-pc --recheck --force /dev/sda1
returned error code 127.

fuck this…parrot 6 ==== zum kotzen, kurwa.
