Config grub to boot a usb with another distro

hi, i have os parrot installed but i want to try ubuntu. i have made a usb bootable with balena etcher but i cant make grub to read the usb. i have downloades grub cutomizer but i cant either…
can you help me?

You need to change the boot order to boot from USB first and not hard drive, in BIOS or UEFI settings.

Some computers will boot from USB when holding a key combination at boot, it depends on what it is.

I now on an older Lenovo, to get it to boot from anything but internal hard drive, I had to press a tiny reset button with a toothpick whilst it booted to get into the UEFI

Another method is to install this boot manager instead, it can boot anything you want, and wont balk your present install;
