Hey,

I recently upgraded parrot to the latest version on my Dell Latitude E7470. After the upgrade I can boot, but sometime between the login-screen and 10 min after logging in the display goes dark. The problem is resolved after booting with 5.1 Kernel.

Is the bug known? If so, is there an easy solution?

It sounds like dim screen to me and it is totally normal. The strange part is: different kernel version is not having this problem. Can you check your power saver settings? I think it may help something (I still don’t think it is bugs in kernel)

Tried to disable energy saving, disabled all display related options. Still getting a dark screen after a minute or so.

Found reports on kernel 5.2 (even though part of it is reported for Arch) that might be related:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/63261
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/63159

Thanks. I am reporting our leader.

Hi. Try booting with nomodeset kernel option, or choose ParrotOS Failsafe (nvidia/amd off) in grub.

And also try to upgrade the system one more time, we are having a lot of updates daily sudo parrot-upgrade.
