DELL XPS 9720 Audio Driver on PARROT OS

– Please Write here your help request, –
Trying to find Linux driver for this Laptop the audio is Realtek ALC711-CG, sound works ok when I tried Ubuntu. But no sound on Parrot, tried various bits and pieces and googling here and there to no avail, but came across this ALSA update from 1.2.5.1 to 1.2.6.1 loses audio devices on Dell XPS 9700 · Issue #206 · alsa-project/alsa-lib · GitHub and at bottom of page says about asking your distro to upgrade package

  • Parrot version in use (if you are not aware of it, open terminal and type cat /etc/os-release | grep VERSION):

  • Kernel version (if you are not aware of it, open terminal and type uname -r):

  • Logs/Terminal output (use pastebin or similar services):

  • Screenshots:

UPDATE

Got Graphics & Wifi drivers installed and all good. But no luck with the Audio, looking at inxi shows that PulseAudio & PipeWire both newer versions on Ubuntu. So some googling and found newer versions on Debian.

So installed both and then get broken dependencies, at moment unable to fix :slightly_frowning_face:

UPDATE

Sound all sorted now was down to a grub config.

Can confirm new DELL XPS 17 / 9720 working with PARROT OS :ok_hand:
