How do I configure to type in Japanese with ibus anthy?

I’m trying to type in Japanese using ibus anthy but struggling.
I"ve done “sudo apt install ibus anthy” but don’t know how to go further.
Could you please advice me how I can type in romaji Japanese ?

Hi! Parrot 4.10 has the fcitx. You can try sudo apt install fcitx-anthy then right click on the fcitx icon -> configuration -> add new language.

Thank you for your advice dmknight.
I managed to install fcitx-anthy but no language apperas in input method. When I cliced + bottun and search for Japanese, it doesn’t appear.
Can please hear your further advise ?

Please click on Add button which has + icon and search on google how to add japanese input key with fcitx`.
I have never tried it so i can’t help you further.

Thanks ! I managed to configure Anythy. Here’s what I did;

  1. Installed ibus and anthy with terminal command.
    2.went to “Ibus Preference” from left bottom menue.
    3.from Input Method tab, I added Japanese Anthy.
    4.Now I can switch between latin and Kana on top right IBUS.

If you are using ibus, i’d suggest you remove fcitx.
