How to disable MATE's visual bell

Hi all!

I’ve been searching online for a solution to this to no avail, so I’m hoping one of y’all might be able to help. Whenever I backspace into an empty search bar or field in programs like the directory browser, my screen does this weird visual tearing thing. I managed to disable the auditory component through sound and terminal settings, but I haven’t found a solution for disabling the visual bell. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Update: Fixed it!

Keyboard Preferences => Accessibility => Audio Feedback => Show Visual Feedback for Alert setting

There are also some other visual/audio bell settings that I found for specific applications, but those were easier to find.
