How to setup mysql in parrot

i am receiving this error when i try to run mysql any help please # am using mariadb server

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/tmp/mysql.sock’ (2)

Try to install graphical mode of phpmydamin you will automatically set up the password for MySQL : and then in the terminal you will only enter : MySQL -u root -p
