I want to switch to parrot os from ubuntu and i am a computer science student … enthusiastic about ethical hacking and staff but have no knowledge at the moment. Is it advisable to make it my main os (the security version)

Security wise, the security version is less advisable as daily driver, you should leave it for a vm (if your hardware can handle it), or have a machine dedicated for it, but not as a daily driver. The reason is simple:
With the many tools preinstalled, you have a bigger attack surface.
The home edition is made to be used as an everyday OS.
