Keyboard keys randomly not recognized

I’m new to Parrot OS and currently facing issues with the onboard keyboard on my Dell 5540 recognizing some of the keys when I type and some have to be clicked on several times for the key to be recognized. This happens to random keys when I attempt to typing them. At times I have to press the key repeatedly or hold it for longer for the desired key to be recognized. Using an external USB keyboard works normally and all keys are recognized in a normal time frame. The issues appears to only be when using the laptops keyboard. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to getting this issue fixed? I really want to start working with this OS. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, first thing to try is a bios re-set…
Save all work, disconnect all cables [USB/audio/blue tooth adaptors.wi-fi, power supply, the lot]
Whilst still switched on, press and hold the power button down for 60 seconds, release & re-start
