No address associated with hostname

Briefly describe your issue below:

so i recently updated my virtual Os to the newest version, it was fine that same night after it was done updating, however; the next day when i try to run any programs, download packages, etc, i would receive an error message.

When i try to execute apt-get update , it would give me an error message saying :

Err:1 http://deb.parrotsec.org/parrot parrot InRelease
Something wicked happened resolving ‘deb.parrotsec.org:http’ (-5 - No address associated with hostname)
W: Failed to fetch http://deb.parrotsec.org/parrot/dists/parrot/InRelease Something wicked happened resolving ‘deb.parrotsec.org:http’ (-5 - No address associated with hostname)
W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

with this error, i am unable to run metalsploit, everything i do, i get an error. TwT

What version of Parrot are you running? (include version, edition, and architecture)

What method did you use to install Parrot? (Debian Standard / Debian GTK / parrot-experimental)

Configured to multiboot with other systems? (yes / no)

Same issue. I think it’s something about the internet connection cuz i wasn’t be able to access the internet (When i used firefox the error was: Server not responding or something similar). I’ve just reinstalled the OS and now everything should be fine. Probabily there are better metods butt… if u want to do this make sure to save ur files.

Try updating again and you probably want to change your source list you want “…/parrot parrot main contrib nonfree”

I know it’s alter But
Are you connected with internet
If yes then
Try

sudo anonsurf start && apt update

It could be the internet connection, however i am not entirely sure, since i am able to surf firefox, stream videos, etc. But might have to involve something related to connection problems. I will definitely take note on that. Thanks for the response .

Thank you for the response. I will try this method. Hopefully it’ll work TwT

I am going to try and reinstall parrot os , and try this out the third time. Since the 2nd attempt i made yesterday, i also re-encountered the same errors. Thank you for all the helpful response, everyone.

You were able to acces firefox from parrot (in the vm) or from other os (non vm)?

From the vm
