No Sound after installation

I am getting no sound on my fresh install of Parrot. It seems the card is not being detected at all. I am attaching the outputs of various troubleshooting commands. Any help is appreciated.

So you just need to make sure its correct kernel module is being switched on at boot time. Try changing the alsa config file;

sudo pluma /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

And adding;

options snd-hda-intel model=auto

save and reboot and it should work as expected.

Thanks Fred. I did try the adding the line in there “options snd-hda-intel model=auto” to the file. Saved & Rebooted. No luck.

FIXED IT : Appropriate FIRMWARE was the issue here.
Step by step guide for fellow Parrot Users :

  1. Found the relation between my sound hardware : sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl driver = Part of the Sound Open Firmware (SOF) project.

  2. dmesg | grep -i firmware = NO OUTPUT

  3. Executed : 3.1 sudo apt update
    3.2 sudo apt install firmware-sof-signed

  4. Rebooted the machine.

  5. Executed : 5.1 sudo apt update
    5.2 sudo apt install alsa-utils pulseaudio pavucontrol

  6. Executed : 6.1 pulseaudio --kill
    6.2 pulseaudio --start

  7. Executed : aplay --list-devices : SUCCESS
