fresh install 6.5. are the nvidia drivers, nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-driver, ok to install?
- Parrot version in use (if you are not aware of it, open terminal and type
cat /etc/os-release | grep VERSION
):
VERSION_ID=“6.0”
VERSION=“6.0 (lorikeet)”
VERSION_CODENAME=lory
- Kernel version (if you are not aware of it, open terminal and type
uname -r
):
6.5.0-13parrot1-amd64
note:
this fresh install is currently making use of the driver=nouveau video driver. this notebook has nvidia 670M in it and i would prefer to use the nvidia driver and install “nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-driver”. regarding my 6.5 kernel upgrade issues previously, wondering with this fresh install i could install the nvidia-driver, block the noveau driver in /etc/modprobe.d? you know, just trying to not have the nvidia driver issues as with the attempted upgrade. might be a moot point since this is a fresh ParrotSec install? tia
