i try to open a torrent with qbittorrent and nothing happens

Try copying the torrent link into the client and go from there. If it doesn’t come up when selected from the menu then the launcher might be broken, so you’d have to edit it to fix it. If that doesn’t work try invoking from terminal…if none of that has any effect then check your logs.
Most likely it’s a sandbox issue where the browser doesn’t have permission to call up bittorent like that. You could try starting an unconfined browser session and then try again or like I said originally just copy the link into the application (that’s what I do).
