– Rtl8812au the virtual machine does not see the Wi-Fi network.The virtual machine does not see the WI-FI network. This is a USB-adapter Comfast -CF912AC. I installed many different versions of drivers. The adapter is detected. But the list of WI-FI networks is empty. , –
Is this Wi-fi adaptor Just for the VM or is it also used by the host system
if it is set up for the host system, you would normally use the host bridge to connect to the internet
If it is a dedicated connection for the VM, have you entered the VM and set the usb parameters for it.
Set it to use USB 2 spec not USB 1.1 and only plug it in, after the Parrot OS has booted, and it should then ask you where you want it used, the host or the VM
If its plugged in before VM is booted, it might not be released by the host properly.
Some USB adapters need to be ‘modeswitched’ (they have an inbuilt ISO function designed to install drivers in Windows that can interfere with WiFi function), most Debian based distros should now do this automatically, but the caveat is only if they recognised your device and already had drivers installed, if you had to compile drivers, this may need to be done manually.
Have a look here for more info (main USB section) and drivers;
Changed to USB 2 in virtual box (ver. 7.0.20 r163906 (Qt5.15.2)). Connected it after loading Parrot OS. There is no list of Wi-Fi networks. My adapter does not have ISO mode. It is not detected as a flash drive in Windows. I always installed drivers from the Internet.
with this version of the drivers 8812au, which you suggested. The list of Wi-Fi networks is empty. The adapter does not see Wi-Fi networks. For now I have rolled back to Parrot os v 4.11.2. I was able to install drivers on it that see the network and there is a monitor mode.
