The config url: GitHub - dmknght/calamares-settings-netinst: Netinstall configurations
Device: Gigabyte G5 KE
Quick result: Installed fine, the target system takes 4.6gb (xfce, firefox and some other packages). LUKS worked fine with encrypted /boot
.
What’s not good:
- Missing some packages. It’s not critical but still not good
- Meta package is bad. It installed too many unecessary packages that took at least 1gb storage
- The current setting is still WIP. Too many packages are missing from selectable list
What doesnt work:
- External monitor using Nvidia-driver doesn’t work. It’s hardware / driver problem rather than installer’s problem
- G5 KE uses Intel Wifi 6e ax2111. The wireless doesn’t work in neither live mode nor after installation. I had to use tethernet connection from phone, and install the i915 firmware manually. The file is at q3aql / drivers-linux-firmware · GitLab
What to expect:
A fully (or almost) customizable installer
