Unable to locate package checkinstall

When I typed - sudo apt-get install checkinstall
in terminal , I got this error E:Unable to locate package checkinstall

I need to install checkinstall in order to install a tar file…
Anyone please help,

What version of Parrot are you running? (include version, edition, and architecture)
Linux parrot 4.19.0-parrot1-20t-amd64 #1 SMP Parrot 4.19.20-2parrot1.20t (2019-03-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux

What method did you use to install Parrot? (Debian Standard / Debian GTK / parrot-experimental)

Configured to multiboot with other systems? (yes / no)

Firstly refresh repo (apt update) mayne it’s on repo

2. for installing tar file. Not need anytool

Simply

 tar --help | man tar 

Why use tools when you avle to easily do with simple commands
Or required for your install?

If not in repo & you really need it ; then
Find out it at Google as Deb, or install it whatever from where you trust
