For example: Although I defined a hostname during installation, that option was not saved after it. /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts must be manually edited after installation.

I’ve tested installation with latest calamares and the hostname is fine for me

Anyhow the lastest beta has update of xfce that you told @nous . Thank you for reporting and suggesting us

Strange. I even did a clean installation twice and in both cases the “hostname” and “hosts” were not good. Even the login screen said localhost.localdomain as a hostname. I can’t explain what happened.

Anyway, it’s irrelevant now, because I see that RC1 is set. When I have time I will try the installation with this new image.
Anyway, the XFCE version is great in this release as well and I use it as a daily driver.

It would be nice if there are screenshots so we can understand the problem easier
Anyhow i’m very happy that you love the XFCE edition. In next 4.12 we’ll have OpenSnitch firewall for all Home edition
